Big Game by State

Coverage

States

A state appears here with full data only after its numbers have been checked against the agency's own documents. Until then it's listed honestly as unfinished.

Odds and harvest states

These states publish enough detail to answer the question properly — point-level draw outcomes, or in Alaska's case, decades of harvest results.

  • WyomingIn verification
Point-level odds by residency, with the Regular and Special draws reported separately.
  • AlaskaIn verification
Fifty years of queryable harvest outcomes by game management unit. No draw odds — see below.
  • UtahQueued
Point-level odds, residents and nonresidents split, running back to 2010.
  • New MexicoQueued
No point system, but complete draw pools published as spreadsheets.
  • MontanaQueued
Point-level odds, including landowner permit categories.
  • IdahoQueued
A pure random draw with no point system, so the published odds are the complete answer.

States where we will not publish odds

These states get deadline and application coverage, but no odds tables — and the reason is worth stating plainly rather than hiding.

A state that doesn't publish results broken down by point level and residency cannot support an accurate point-level odds figure. Sites that show one anyway are either publishing pooled odds — total applicants divided by total tags, which answers a different question — or estimating. We do neither.

  • Arizona
Arizona does not publish draw results broken out by bonus point level or by residency. Without that breakdown, nobody can show you accurate point-level odds for Arizona — including the paid tools that display them.
  • Nevada
Nevada publishes point-level detail only for sheep, goat and bear — not for the species most people apply for. We would rather publish nothing than publish pooled odds dressed up as an answer.
  • Colorado
Colorado publishes detailed statistics, but access and redistribution terms are still being reviewed. Deadlines are covered now; odds coverage depends on how that review lands.
