Point creep

The lowest point level at which everyone who applied drew, in each published year, nonresident regular general draw. Levels nobody applied at are excluded, because a level with no applicants technically drew 100% of them and tells you nothing about what it took. The landowner draw is excluded too: it is a separate draw published in its own report, so a landowner row filling at nought points is not a tag a general applicant could have drawn. Where a year shows none, no level anyone applied at drew everyone.

This describes what happened. It is not a prediction of what next year will take.

What this table does not tell you

• Tags left is a running remainder, not the hunt's quota. Wyoming's reports decrement it down the point ladder, so the figure on the top row is the quota and every row below shows what was still unclaimed.
• Applicants are first-choice only. Someone who listed this hunt second or third does not appear here, so real competition is higher than the applicant count suggests.
• A point level and a "fewer than" row are different things. < 14 describes everyone holding fewer than 14 points as one pool, not people holding exactly 14.
• Rule change: WGFD publishes no 2022 draw reports on its index page. Available years are 2021 and 2023-2026. Any series spanning that gap must show it as missing rather than interpolating across it.
• Rule change: Wyoming's 90/10 allocation took effect for the 2023 season, cutting the nonresident share to 10% for bighorn sheep, Shiras moose, mountain goat and bison. Elk, deer and antelope are NOT affected -- a point that was widely misunderstood. Any nonresident series for the affected species spanning 2021 to 2026 crosses this boundary.
